The private British school Sierra Bernia School de l’Alfàs del Pi, founded in 1973, celebrates its 50th anniversary, and is preparing a meeting of former students before the end of the year.

This summer they have prepared a summer camp in a British environment, starting on July 3rd.

With 240 students of all nationalities, preferably Spanish, English, Norwegian, Swedish, Ukrainian, Chinese, German and French, the Sierra Bernia School de l’Alfàs private school has offered British education for ages 3 to 18 since it was founded in 1973. at the initiative of a group of parents, in a chalet behind the Estrada with about 15 boys and girls. Soon the space was insufficient and it is in 1977 when Duncan Allan assumes the direction and the center takes a leap forward establishing itself on the outskirts of the municipality, where it is currently located, and positioning itself as the most traditional British school on the entire Costa Blanca .

This morning the acting mayor of l’Alfàs, Vicente Arques, together with the also acting councilors for Education, Loli Albero, and Residents of other nationalities, Martina Mertens, met with the director of the Sierra Bernia School of l’ Alfàs, Duncan Allan, to congratulate you on the initiative and the good work carried out throughout all these years, and to hope that you continue to train many more generations. Meeting attended by the director’s wife and son, closely linked to the good progress of the educational center, Amanda Allan and Nicolás Allan, who also wanted to dedicate words of gratitude to the deputy director of the school María José Fernández.

In full celebration of such a round anniversary, it is only possible to renew intentions and work to provide the best environment for teachers and students that allow their residents to achieve academic success. A center with a marked cosmopolitan character focused on the integration of multinational and bilingual students, with a team of professionals of 30 people, an associate member of the Council of British Independent Schools in the European Communities (COBIS) and the National Association of British Schools in Spain ( NABSS).
