Last Friday, 24th February, Sierra Bernia School hosted a Carnival Celebration as a way to energize the whole school community, teachers and pupils.
Preparation began weeks beforehand. Previous to the big day, we had been holding a number of activities in History and Art to learn more about Medieval Ages. Costumes and decorations were carefully designed. The walls and hallways were decorated with dazzling red and yellow shields.
Our Secondary students made their own shields and swords and came to school dressed up as knights, monks, princesses, kings and queens.
Carnival brought the best in all of us. It taught students to collaborate, to be creative and to unite.
